This high-quality 1.5 oz weight Chopped Strand Mat is 50" wide and comes in a continuous 3 yard linear length. It is folded and packaged as shown in the pictures provided. Suitable for hand lay-up applications with epoxy, polyester, and vinyl ester resins, this product is commonly used in industries such as transportation, recreation, marine, and construction.

It's important to note that this Chopped Strand Mat is powder bound, making it compatible with all resins. Unlike lesser products that are emulsion bound, the fibers in this mat are not glued together. This makes it easier to wet out and more conforming. To prevent fibers from sticking to your gloves, it's recommended to wet the surface before laying down the mat.

There are various uses for this Chopped Strand Mat, including using it as a barrier between gel coat and woven roving to prevent "print through," as a bond layer between layers of woven roving, and for building thickness at a rate of about 1/22" or .045" per layer. This product offers uniform strength and stiffness in all directions and conforms to mold details better than woven roving.
